The 4 Most Common Types of Trade Show Booths

Most Common Types of Trade Show Booths To maximize the appearance of your Trade Show Booth Displays, choosing the right booth configuration and setting up the layout of your displays is rather important. Not only can it grab the visitors’ attention, it also creates an effective traffic flow that will make your visitors feel welcome. There are four common types of booth configurations you will see at trade shows.

The first common type of booth is called Standard also called In-line booth, is the most used style of trade show booth.  This 10′ x 10′ booth size has one entrance that is facing an aisle.  From the front of the booty to 5ft back, the walls cannot be higher than 4ft.  The maximum height of the back ans sides of the booth is 8ft.  No haning signs can be displayed at this type of booth.

The second common type of booth is called Perimeter Wall.  This is also a 10′ x 10′ sized booth and has one entrance that is facing the aisle.  From the front of the booth to 5ft back, the walls cannot be higher than 4ft.  However, the height of the back and half of the sides of the booth can be up to 12ft because the booth backs up to an outside wall, not to another exhibit.  No hanging signs can be displayed at this type of booth.

The third common type of booth is called Peninsula.  This booth size is 20′ x 20′ or larger, and it has three sides that are exposed to the aisles.  The exterior back wall cannot have any graphics, logos, advertisements, nor booth identification.  The exterior back wall must be plain.  There are two types of Peninsulas.  For a peninsula that backs up to an inline booth, there are restrictions so the booths behind it are not blocked.  The other type is referred as “split island booth” which backs up to another peninsula.  Hanging signs can be displayed at this type of booth.

The fourth common type of booth is called Island.  This booth size is 20′ x 20′ or larger, and all four sides are exposed to the aisles.  This type gives you maximum visibility and your choice of which side(s) you want to locate your main entrance.  There are maximum heights for each side of the wall.  Make sure to check the hall regulations before you design the graphics.  Hanging signs can be displayed at this type of booth.

Tips For You!

You want to maximize the use of the space effectively for your trade show and your visitors to remember what they see when they are visiting your booth. The key is to not clutter your booth area. You probably want to display lots of products in your booth, but instead, pick one or two to highlight at the show. You can always prepare a good amount of brochures to hand out at the show to promote your other products. The backdrop is one of the important parts you want to focus on because that’s what the visitors will see first when they are walking around at the show. When planning your graphics, especially for the backdrop, make sure the graphic are bold and will draw attention. For example, strong imagery or a clever caption with a vibrant color background.
