Portable Stage Specifications

CAPACITY
All units must be designed to carry a uniform live load of at least 200 lbs. per square foot. Written laboratory test data must be submitted on request.

PORTABILITY
The stage system shall be capable of being completely set-up and dismantled quickly, without special tools, by two persons of average physical strength.

CONSTRUCTION

DECKING

A solid, plywood core shall be surfaced with one of the following:
OPTION 1: 1/8" thick tempered hardboard - OPTION 2: polypropylene sheet - OPTION 3: carpet. The decking shall measure at least " in thickness. The perimeter of the decking shall be routed to allow the frame to fit flush with the top surface and cover the edges of carpeting.

FRAME
A 16 gauge, formed steel channel, 1-13/16" high shall be reinforced with a 16 gauge steel angle welded to the inside of the channel. The angle shall provide a continuous support to which the decking is secured with screws placed a maximum of 9" apart. The frames shall completely enclose the top, bottom and edges of the decking perimeter preventing the decking and any specified covering from becoming loose or damaged. All areas where frame members are joined together shall be reinforced with steel plates attached with rivets.

LEG STRUCTURE (Fixed Height)
Each leg assembly shall be constructed of 1.05" diameter, 14 gauge steel tubing capped at the point of floor contact with high impact plastic glides. The vertical load bearing members shall be joined at the top by a full width, steel tube to provide maximum support to the stage deck. The top of each leg assembly shall fold open and closed, rotating within 16 gauge steel saddle clips that are secured with at least four screws. Leg assemblies shall be braced by friction type braces, equipped with a spring locking device to secure the legs in the open and closed position. Braces shall be secured to the leg assembly with rivets and to the decking using a minimum of six screws and two bolts installed through the decking. It shall require only three leg assemblies to fold when opening or closing each riser unit. Legs shall open and close using only one hand. Gravity ring type brace locks are not acceptable.

LEG STRUCTURE (Dual Height)
Dual height leg assemblies are to be constructed, attached and shall fold in similar fashion to fixed height leg assemblies, but shall be constructed of 1.05" and 1.25" diameter, 14 gauge steel tubing. The leg assembly shall be constructed to allow the stage height to be positioned at two different heights having an eight inch differential. Braces shall open and close with one hand. Gravity ring type brace locks are not acceptable. Height adjustment shall be made by rotating the leg 180 degrees and engaging it into a locking stud. Stage units shall require only three leg assemblies to be adjusted to accomplish a change in height.

COUPLING
Stage units shall be equipped with drop-in type couplings that allow stage units of the same or different heights to be joined together. All couplings shall be permanently secured to each unit. Coupling devices not permanently attached are not acceptable.

METAL FINISH
All metal parts shall be thoroughly cleaned and phosphatized to enhance paint adhesion. Metal parts are to be finished with a thermofused epoxy powdercoating. All painted metal components shall be furnished in black or brown color.

ACCESSORIES

GUARD RAILS

Guard rails shall be furnished to protect the back and sides of the stage as well as both sides of any stairs to be furnished. Guard rails shall be constructed of 1" diameter, 14 gauge, powdercoated, steel tubing. Guard rails shall quickly attach to stages by clamping on to the frame and bolting through the decking. Bolts and threaded inserts shall be provided by the manufacturer.

STEPS
Steps shall be surfaced with slip resistant, gray polypropylene. Step units shall clamp securely to any area of the stage perimeter. Units shall have ______ levels. Each step shall be 36" wide x 12" deep and shall have a rise of 8". {OPTIONAL: Hand rails shall be provided for both sides of the step units.}

CADDIES
Caddies shall be provided to store and transport all stage units to the event location and safely hold each unit until legs are folded open and the unit is rotated to the floor. Each caddy shall be capable of holding 6 units.

WARRANTY
All stage components shall be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten years. Any defects discovered and reported in writing within the warranty period shall be corrected by the manufacturer at no cost to the owner.
